Seniors Festival - Writing Workshop: Page Fright,Overcoming the Blank Page

Lionel Bowen LibraryMaroubra, NSW
Friday, Mar 13, 2026 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm AEDT
Overview

Come along to the Library and discover how to put your words and thoughts on paper!

You probably are full of ideas for a writing project – perhaps you want to write a memoir, enter a writing competition, or finally commit that novel that has been lurking in your imagination for a long time.

You sit down to write, and your mind goes blank!

In this workshop we will discuss the reasons for page fright, some neuroanatomy which will help to inform your writing, learn how to overcome page fright, learn to mine your life, and resist perfectionism. There will be some exercises to get your writing off to a flying start.

Relax and embrace the challenge.

Please bring along some pens and paper to take notes and record your ideas.
