A welcoming and hands-on photography workshop (use your mobile phone or camera) designed especially for seniors.
Mindful Photography Class - Seniors Festival 2026
Sunset Gallery Framing & Printing, Port Macquarie
Join us for Live Life in Colour: Seeing Stories Through Photography, a welcoming and hands-on photography workshop designed especially for seniors.
This creative session focuses on learning how to see colour, light and everyday objects in new ways, rather than technical camera skills. Participants will be gently guided through simple, enjoyable approaches to noticing colour in their surroundings and turning those observations into meaningful photographic images.
Using any device — from a mobile phone to a DSLR camera — participants will explore creative techniques with the support of curated props and mini backdrops. No previous photography experience is required.
The workshop is facilitated by Cherie Rayner of Reimagined Images, a professional photographer and photomedia artist with over 30 years’ experience, known for her accessible, supportive approach to creativity and visual storytelling. Hosted in Sunset Framing and Gallery on Central Road, Port Macquarie.
Each participant will select a final image created during the workshop. This image will be professionally processed by Cherie in collaboration with the participant, combining personal creative intent with technical expertise. Participants will be invited to share their finished works in a library exhibition shown in the second week of the festival (works can be collected again at the end of the exhibition). An exhibition opening will be held at Port Macquarie Library on Tuesday 11 March, 4:30-5:30pm, open invitation.
Free morning tea will be provided.
