Event description

Description

Please join the Murdoch School of Education for a seminar presented by Early Learning consultants, Leanne Sharp and Sue Charlick.

In this seminar, Leanne and Sue will discuss how play-based pedagogy in the classroom can provide child-initiated and planned play opportunities across the range of learning areas, while linking to the curriculum. Leanne will share her experiences as an early childhood teacher, and Sue as an educational assistant, on how to encourage play and curiosity naturally throughout the day. Many ideas will be shared of how to easily set up play activities and experiences with everyday items.

Hear about how choosing play in the classroom can bring nature into the classroom and give children an opportunity for:

  • movement
  • creativity
  • communication
  • development of social skills, and
  • time and space for emotional responses.
