About this event

  • 2 hours

Veteran family members are invited to attend a sound healing session followed by a picnic at the beach in Cronulla, courtesy of Our Space.

This event aims to support peer connection and stress reduction. Veteran families are invited to come together and experience a unique modality of relaxation through sound healing. The session will be facilitated by UNSW approved music tutor and certified yoga instructor Bianca Teremi from the Heart and Soul Yoga studio in Cronulla. Attendees will hear a variety of calming sounds, including crystal singing bowls, promoting wellness and relaxation.

The event will conclude with a picnic where attendees can continue connecting with their peers over a healthy lunch whilst taking in the views of beautiful Cronulla beach.

Wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat and small blanket or jacket to keep warm during the sound healing session. There is no cost for this event. The sound healing session and lunch will be provided by Our Space.

Previous attendees said “I have never been good at meditating, but this sound healing session dropped me into a deep state of relaxation without even trying! I felt so calm afterward as if I awoke from a deep restorative sleep. I cannot wait to do it again”.

Registration is essential. Please register here or contact us for further information wellbeing@fov.org.au or 02 9267 6577. If you are unable to attend the whole event, you are welcome to join us for sound healing or lunch only. Please indicate this on your registration.

Am I able to bring my child/children?

Due to the nature of the event, we do not encourage bringing children, however, if you wish to attend and cannot find a carer for your child/children, please call or email Lisa on (02) 9267 6577 or wellbeing@fov.org.au to discuss.

What should I bring?

Bring a list of questions or concerns you might have, ideas of topics or challenges you might be facing. You can bring pen and paper to write what you might discover.  Please bring a yoga mat with you for the sound healing session. If you do not have one, please let us know at registration.

You can sign up on the day of the event in person. You can email us at wellbeing@fov.org.au or join the Our Space Online group through Facebook. You don’t have to be a member to join a group, but of course you are most welcome to join any time.
