Selective Mutism Workshop

The Department of Education and Training (DET) provides educational services for the Victorian Government. Student Support Services are a part of DET. The purpose of Student Support Services is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support.

Dr Elizabeth Woodcock from the Selective Mutism Clinic in Sydney will be presenting a full day Selective Mutism workshop to DET Loddon Campaspe staff in Bendigo on Monday 18th June 2018.
Elizabeth is the principal Clinical Psychologist within the clinic and has over 16 years experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of child and adult problems including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, insomnia, chronic pain, stress, PTSD, sexual problems, and much more. She has worked in both private practice and the public sector, in both research and clinical settings for over fifteen years. Elizabeth has worked extensively with children and families and is an accredited ‘Triple P’ leader (Positive Parenting Program). For a number of years she worked at Redbank House at Westmead Hospital, which is a tertiary-level service for children with severe behavioural problems and other psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, and attachment problems. Elizabeth also has extensive experience in the treatment of Selective Mutism and is the founder and director of the Selective Mutism Clinic. She runs regular training programs and seminars about Selective Mutism for parents, teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, and other clinicians. 
Elizabeth has a combined PhD and Masters of Clinical Psychology degree from the University of N.S.W, and is a member of the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She holds full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist (Reg #: PSY0001406292).
