Strategy and Structure of Business Succession - When an Owner/CEO Hands Over the Reins
Presenters | Brendan Mitchell, Senior Consultant - Found Consulting and Andrew Douglas, Managing Principal - FCW Lawyers
Brendan and Andrew will discuss how to plan and execute the strategy and structure of business succession. They will look at how to create continuity of family ownership that survives family rivalry, disparate capability and successfully aligns workers, suppliers, financial institutions, and clients on the journey.
They will also look at companies that wish to build internal succession in leaderships skills - involving capability mapping, performance management and a structure plan for future promotion.
Both pathways require:
- a clear purpose and strategic plan
- an operational plan and capability mapping
- a skills and merit-based succession strategy
- careful, candid, and open communication
- a well-crafted, sensitive, and collaborative change management plan
- buy-in from all parties.
