Session Details

SESSION ONE (11-12pm)

24 Hour Postural Management

Clinical seating can greatly impact health outcomes. From falls reduction to pressure injury prevention, seating solutions offer a vast array of clinical benefits.

In this session, we will introduce the Four Principles of Clinical Seating and use a range of case studies to outline the benefits of alternate seating solutions.

At the end of this session, participants will be confident in justifying an alternate seat as part of a patient's 24 hour postural management program

Enhanced Seating in Dementia Care:

It’s more than a chair; it’s peace of mind.

Many individuals living with dementia spend long periods of time in inadequate seating – seating that can leave them feeling disoriented, agitated, and distressed.

In this session, we’ll explore how dementia-friendly seating solutions enhance comfort, promote postural support, and improve overall wellbeing. We’ll also demonstrate the Four Principles of Clinical Seating and share case studies highlighting the benefits of alternative seating solutions for individuals with dementia.

SESSION TWO (12.30-1.30pm)

Bariatric Seating (Not Just a Bigger Chair)

This session explores the unique challenges of assessing and seating bariatric clients –because it’s NOT just about getting a wider chair.

Bariatric clients have distinct body shapes and specific postural challenges that require more than just additional seat width. In this session, we’ll explore key assessment considerations and effective seating solutions tailored to their needs.

We will demonstrate the Four Principles of Clinical Seating and use real-world case studies to highlight the benefits of alternative seating solutions.
