Seating Lab: Assessment Considerations and Practical Strategies to Support Clients with Complex Postural Needs, presented by Joana.

<p>The provision of wheelchair seating and positioning for clients with complex postural needs can be daunting and require a detailed and careful problem-solving approach.
</p><p>
</p><p>This intermediate workshop will cover important assessment considerations as well as numerous intervention strategies to support clinicians, even the highly experienced ones, in getting it right the first time. </p>

</li><li>How to use a step-by-step assessment process to facilitate data collection?
</li><li>Translate assessment findings into considerations and product features
</li><li>Practical strategies to facilitate intervention
</li><li>Clinical reasoning and justification</li></ul>

</p><h3>About the Presenter
</h3><p>Meet Joana Santiago from Medifab</p>

<p>Joana Santiago is the Clinical Educator Manager and the R&D Clinical Lead for Medifab. She completed her degree in Occupational Therapy in Portugal and soon developed a passion for Posture Care and Wheelchair Seating &amp; Positioning. With 15 years of experience, predominantly postural needs, Joana takes pride in her flexible capability in reaching good clinical outcomes by considering the individual needs, wants and expectations of those she works with. Joana is based in Australia where she primarily assists clinicians by sharing her knowledge and expertise through education and mentoring programs. Furthermore, she has a positive influence on the development, supply, and training of Medifab’s extensive range of products.

</p><p>She is a specialist in her field and has presented at a variety of national and international conferences, around the world.</p>
