#SEASummit 2019

Following on from the success of our last two #SEASummits, SEA is proud to be hosting our 3rd annual #SEASummit 2019!

Join other catalysts of change in the sport and sustainability sectors for a day at Melbourne's Mecca of sport, the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

On March 5th, 2019, SEA will host a one-day summit to raise awareness of how the sporting industry can limit its impact on the environment and how the changes in our environment are affecting the places and spaces where we play.

The #SEASummit will not only focus on sport within Australasia, but also the international sporting industry, with a heavy emphasis on how a collective and collaborative approach can lead to change.

The #SEASummit will run from 9 AM - 5 PM AEST, with delegates invited to stay for our annual #SEAChanger Awards and networking drinks until 7 PM AEST.

See video highlights from our 2016 and 2017 summits.

What our past attendees say:

"Fantastic to increase my knowledge of current practises and areas of focus within the sports industry. Seeing large and small organisations having a huge impact in creating more sustainable events and operations has given me confidence that similar outcomes can be achieved within my sport and organisation."

"The expertise from across the globe was amazing. Seeing the global collaboration first hand made me feel as though there are a lot of people out there that are willing to assist and help us along this journey."

"It was a great change to meet people interested in making a difference in the environment through their sport. I learned a lot about facilities and what they can do."

The #SEAChanger Award

The #SEAChanger Award is back again in 2019!

In 2017, SEA was proud to announce Wollongong Golf Club and Penrith Bowling and Recreation Club as winners of the #SEAChanger award.  Wollongong had done great work with their Recycled Water Management Program and their Vegetation Management Plan.  Penrith, on the other hand, had been developing ways to reduce their carbon footprint through the use of solar power.

This year, we are again celebrating the good work being done across our communities to minimise our impact. Sport is a vehicle for social and environmental good, and your efforts, big or small, to reduce energy, water and material use should be lauded.

The #SEAChangeSolutions Award will occur during the #SEASummit 2019, giving delegates another opportunity to gain knowledge about the good work already happening and celebrate the achievements of sporting clubs, venues/facilities and organising bodies who make efforts to minimise their environmental footprint.
