Join Reef Catchments for an introduction to the SeaGrassroots Project; a three-year community-driven seagrass restoration initiative designed to improve the health and resilience of critical of critical seagrass meadows thorughout the Mackay Whitsunday region.
Where: The Palms Resturant, Sarina Beach Motel
When: Thursday 12 March, 6pm - 7:30pm
Seagrasses are the unsung heroes of the reef supporting diverse marine life, stabilising sediments, filtering water, and capturing carbon. This project will empower local communities like Sarina to take an active role in protecting and restoring these vital ecosystems.
During the evening, you’ll hear from marine scientists and practitioners about the background and purpose of the work and test your knowledge in a fun marine-themed quiz, all whilst enjoying complimentary pizza platters.
