About this event

Guidelines:

• The census involves taking one photo of each species during this night dive.

• Each diver should send in one photo for each species of sea slug or nudibranch they encounter on this dive and submit to https://biocollect.ala.org.au/acsa/project/index/197f0afa-b1e0-415a-b95d-682b710795b3 . If you think you may have captured two species that look very similar, send in photos of both individuals. Our team of experts will ID all species. If you are uncertain of the species, please select "uncertain".

• You don’t need to identify the sea slugs, just take their photos!

• Sea slug is defined as any headshield slug, sapsucking slug, seahare, sidegill slug and nudibranch. If unsure send photo anyway. .

• Ocean Connect Waiver Form to be completed and returned before commencement of the dive.

- Your registration also includes an invitation to the information night on the evening of Sunday the 24th of September.

All participants will receive a FREE T-shirt on the night and tank hire/fills are sponsored. All other equipment is at your own cost. Ocean Connect has 1 camera that can be hired on the night.

Organised by

Ocean Connect is a local not-for-profit organisation that is entirley powered by volunteers. Our focus aims to create a connection between the local community and their coastal and marine environment whilst engaging them in citizen science and environmental education programs.

The organisation was established in 2013 and since then reaches the wider community including schools, community groups and businesses in the region. Each year, approximately 8000 participants take part in our programs.

Our team consists of experienced marine science professionals that have been working in the field of environmental science for many years. We have strong collaborations with local government departments, local businesses (such as Palm Beach Surf Club and Oz Dive) and tertiary education institutions.
