SCRATCH Coding for Beginners 8+ (Online Workshop)

Home to over 300 scientists and researchers, ANSTO is home to some of Australia’s most critical scientific infrastructure including the nation’s only research reactor, a suite of neutron beam instruments, particular accelerators, cyclotrons and the Australian Synchrotron. These instruments are helping to address health issues, climate change and develop new innovations to support Australian industry.

Coding with Scratch For ages 8 – 12 Cost: $25 This is a fun session, where children learn the basics of Scratch coding.

Coding with ScratchFor ages 8 – 12 Cost: $25This is a fun session, where children learn the basics of Scratch coding. No experience is required. Your child will create mini animations, art and games, whilst learning about algorithms, events, conditionals, functions, operators and more. Throughout the session, children will have the opportunity to use and explore their own ideas and will be encouraged to get creative.Requirements: Laptop / PC and Mouse (an iPad or tablet will not work for this activity)Access to Zoom*Access to the website https://scratch.mit.eduOptional:Scratch account - Please note that if your child does not have an account, they can still do the course, but will not be able to save their work and if there are any connectivity issues, their work will be lost. You can sign up for a free Scratch account at https://scratch.mit.edu/2 monitors or 2 devices. This makes it easier for children to move between their Scratch program and the Zoom session.*Zoom link details will be sent closer to the session date.
