Description

EVENT PARTNERSHIP:

EDGE ENVIRONMENT with the SUPPLY CHAIN SUSTAINABILITY SCHOOL

Registration from 7.30am for a prompt 8.00am start - event will end by 10.00am.

The 2015 Paris Agreement saw the world’s governments commit to prevent dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius; accelerating the transition to a low carbon economy.

Many companies are already demonstrating they have the expertise and ingenuity to make this a reality, but need ambitious emissions reduction targets that ensure the action they take is aligned with climate science, as outlined in the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

So if high-level targets can provide businesses with a clear pathway but organisations further along our supply chains are struggling to understand what to do next, how can Australia’s property, construction and infrastructure sectors learn, adapt and flourish?

Come along to this FREE event for property, construction and infrastructure professionals - particularly those in procurement, compliance, risk, sustainability and project management roles - and:

  • Understand what is meant by ‘Science Based Targets’ and the key areas of opportunity
  • Find out how Science Based Targets are relevant to your organisation, your strategy and your success
  • Learn about the Science Based Targets initiative
  • Hear case studies relevant to your sector, and the reactions of leaders and investors
  • Discover which organisations are already taking action around the world, and within Australia
  • Understand what steps to take around setting a target and driving real change
  • Join some of the world’s biggest companies by aligning your company’s efforts to cut GHG's with climate science
  • Ask questions of industry experts, talk with peers, and be part of a growing movement.

We will hear from:

Robin Mellon, Chief Executive Officer, Supply Chain Sustainability School

Monica Richter, Senior Manager - Low Carbon Futures, WWF

Jonas Bengtsson, Chief Executive Officer, Edge Environment
