School Holiday Workshop I "Print Play"

School Holiday Workshop I "Print Play"

Cowra Regional Art GalleryCowra, NSW
Friday, Jan 23, 2026 from 1 pm to 3 pm AEDT
Overview

Venture into the realm of printmaking through a workshop designed for curious, creative hands

Discover the magic of printmaking in this hands-on workshop. Children will create their own foam printing plates by drawing and carving simple designs, then experiment with printing in different colours and layers. We’ll explore pattern, repetition and surprise as each print comes to life. Once the printing is complete, children will transform their prints into small paper creations, such as calendars, cards, gift tags, bookmarks or simple hand-bound books. This workshop combines creativity, experimentation and making, with plenty of opportunities for children to play and take-home practical, one-of-a-kind artworks.

Laura Baker is a Gallery Program and Support Assistant at Cowra Regional Art Gallery. She is also a local artist who loves working with paper. She makes artworks by cutting paper, making paper from scratch and turning paper into sculptural forms. Laura enjoys using simple tools and materials to create detailed and imaginative artworks. She has run creative workshops in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and across the Central West. Laura loves helping kids learn new skills, try new techniques and feel proud of what they create. She believes creativity is a great way to build confidence and connect with others.
