School Holiday Program- 🚜🐐 Farmer for a Day: Animal Care & Summer Crop Sowing Workshop πŸ“πŸ‡πŸ¦†πŸŒ±

Come along on a school holiday adventure to our Permaculture Farm and let your child become a farmer for the day! Together, we’ll visit each animal on the farm, learning their needs and how to care for them with gentle hands and happy hearts. From goats to quails, chickens to rabbits, plus sowing crops for the new season and lots of baby goat cuddles, this is a chance to experience the real work β€” and joy β€” of life on the farm. 🌿✨

In this hands-on workshop, children will:

πŸ“ Visit the chicken coop β€” collect eggs, refill feed and water, cuddle our baby chicks and tidy up nesting boxes to keep our hens healthy.

🐐 Meet the goats β€”brush their coats, feed them hay and treats, bottle feed and cuddle our baby goats and help tidy their pen to keep them comfortable.

πŸ‡ Care for the rabbits β€” prepare a fresh forage basket, tidy their enclosure, and learn about safe handling and grooming.

πŸ¦† Visit the ducks β€” refill water tubs, scatter feed, cuddle our baby ducklings and watch them splash and play.

πŸͺΆ Check in with the quails β€” discover how these tiny birds are cared for, top up their feed, and compare their eggs to those of the chickens and ducks.

πŸƒ Make enrichment treats for the animals β€” from veggie salads for the goats to forage bundles for the chickens and rabbits.

🌱 Sow summer seedlings β€” learn how farmers start their crops for the season and plant seeds into pots to nurture.

Along the way, children will learn:

🌱 The importance of fresh food, clean water, and shelter for animals.

🌿 How to provide enrichment and grooming to keep animals happy and healthy.

🌸 How to care for young seedlings β€” soil, water, sun, and patience β€” just like a real farmer preparing for spring.

πŸ’š The values of responsibility, empathy, and respect in both animal and plant care.

Every child will take home:

β€’ A potted summer seedling they planted themselves 🌱

β€’ Real-life skills in caring for animals through feeding, grooming, and cleaning 🚜

β€’ Confidence in handling animals with kindness πŸπŸ“

β€’ A heart full of memories β€” cuddles, eggs, and the joy of farm life 🌿✨
