Session Information
The Association for Astronomy's portable Planetarium simulates the night sky exactly as it appears from Sydney, and allows us to travel through time whilst viewing the night sky. You will be guided by our passionate and knowledgeable Astronomy Guides, who are all studying Astronomy and Astrophysics at Macquarie University. So, definitely bring your astronomy questions with you!
Come and be amazed by an up-close look at the motions of celestial objects, the surfaces of planets, deep sky objects, constellations and much more! You can take a tour of the Solar System, and peer into the depths of our Galaxy and beyond!
Location
Our Planetarium is located in the indoor carpeted hallway of 14 Sir Christopher Ondaatje Ave (14SCO). The planetarium location inside14SCO is also accessible via the entrance to 12 Wally's Walk (12WW). The building is on the corner of Eastern Road and Wally's Walk - please click here for a map of the exact location!
Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes early for the session, as we will commence strictly on time.
Parking and Transport
Visitor parking is available on campus - please visit the University's Visitor Parking webpage for more information and prices.
Alternatively, 3 hours of free parking is available at the nearby Macquarie shopping centre, just a short 8-minute walk from campus.
Likewise, the Macquarie University Station is located just a short 7-minute walk from campus, accessible by either train or bus (please visit Transport NSW for more information).
