How do I qualify for finals?

The top 6 athletes of each category from the competitive rounds will go head to head in the finals event on Sunday night. The podium placers (top 3 from each category) will receive cash prizes.

How does the ticketing work?

Rather than registering for conventional Open A/Open B/Masters/Inclusion categories, you'll choose to compete in one of three types of rounds: competitive, social or team social.

What are the categories I can register in as a competitive climber?

Male, Female and Gender Inclusive; The gender inclusive category is for competitive climbers who do not identify within a binary gender category and do not wish to register under a binary identifier in Boulderfest.

Scoring will be by attempts, rather than tops with flash points available. This means that your potential points decrease with each unsuccessful attempt, up to 6 attempts. Any successful attempts beyond 6 will count and score the same as if it were 6. The competition is self-scored using Fingercomps

How is para climbing being included?

We excited to officially announce the introduction of a para climbing social session! Sunday social round 2 will include an open para climbing category for anyone who identifies as having an impairment that affects their climbing experience. For more info, please read the social climber handbook.
