Join Fr Hans Zollner SJ and local leaders for this one day workshop exploring the role of faith-based ministries in promoting and creating cultures of safeguarding in their work with children overseas.

This workshop will provide participants with insights from a range of experts working in safeguarding in an international context and give practical examples of promoting the rights and dignity of children in cross-cultural situations.

About the keynote speaker

Fr Hans Zollner SJ is widely regarded as one of the leading ecclesiastical experts in the field of safeguarding of minors and on areas concerning sexual abuse both in the Roman Catholic Church and beyond. He has been a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors since 2014 and head of the Centre for Child Protection at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

Hans is a German theologian and psychologist. Since 2003 he has taught at the Institute of Psychology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He has been the Academic Vice Rector of the Gregorian since 2010. He has been a member of the Society of Jesus since 1990.

Other speakers

Fr Hans will be joined at the workshop by Australian leaders working with children in overseas ministries. They will share their experience, expertise, challenges and good practice.
