SafeDownUnder Website Launch

SafeDownUnder Website Launch

The Alfred CentreMelbourne, VIC
Tuesday, Feb 24 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm AEDT
Overview

Join us for the official launch of SafeDownUnder, a new website for International students, and by International students in Victoria.

Hey international students,

Have you ever felt confused about OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover), where to go when you’re sick, or how to get help in Australia without stress or fear of doing something wrong?

You’re not alone , and that’s exactly why SafeDownUnder was created.

International students face many hidden barriers when accessing healthcare — from not knowing what’s covered by OSHC, to language barriers, stigma, and uncertainty about where to go. SafeDownUnder is here to change that.

After months of co-design, student testing, and community feedback, we’re proud to officially launch SafeDownUnder — a free, student-friendly digital platform that helps international students:

  • Understand how the Australian healthcare system works
  • Know what their OSHC covers
  • Find safe, non-judgmental health services
  • Avoid unnecessary costs
  • Feel confident asking for help when they need it

This launch event brings together students, universities, and community organisations to celebrate the platform and explore how it can support international students across Victoria.

Whether you’re new to Australia or have been studying here for years, this event is for anyone who wants to feel more confident, informed, and supported when using healthcare services.
