We are excited to introduce Robyn Gobbel - Boundaries with Connections

We know that connection is the foundation of all supports. Sometimes, supporting children with histories of trauma and vulnerable nervous systems can feel like it needs to be boundary-free.

But actually, this support often calls for more structure and boundaries. It’s just that we frequently aren’t using the word ‘boundaries’ correctly! This session will bring clarity to what boundaries are and aren’t and how to set boundaries that set our kids up for success.

Boundaries are complicated.

People are told to 'set better boundaries' but what does that even mean???

Boundaries do not mean punishments and rewards.

Boundaries can also be something our children rest into like the proverbial fence or container that creates structure, safety and organisation.

Boundaries not only keep our children physically safe, they also support emotional safety.

All kids, even teens, need boundaries (containment and structure) that offer the safety they need to be safe in that moment and to have the safety that encourages continued development.

In this session, you will learn about:

  • Setting boundaries with connection
  • Supporting children/students
  • Connection is a biological imperative
  • Behavior is an externalisation of inner experience
  • Regulated, Connected, Kids who Feel Safe Behave Well
