Who requires a ticket?

Summerplex Series is suitable for all ages, and all entrants to the events require a ticket, other than children under the age of 3 which are free with a ticket holding adult. Children under six years must be accompanied by an adult within arm’s reach at all times during the event, and all children under twelve require active adult supervision at all times.

Will the Leisureplex still be open to the public?

The gym and wellness suites at both Riverton & Cannington Leisureplex will be open as per usual operational hours on event days. On Saturday January 9th and 30th at Riverton Leisureplex and Saturday January 23rd at Cannington Leisureplex, the pool areas will be open to the public as per usual from 7:00am-1:00pm, but will then be reserved for exclusive usage for ticket holders for the Summerplex Series Event. Cannington or Riverton will still be available for normal pool use when an event is being hosted at the opposite facility.

Will regularly scheduled Leisureplex Programs be impacted?

We have chosen to schedule the Summerplex Series on Saturday afternoons to create no disruption to any of our regular pool programs including Aqua Aerobics. Our gym and fitness spaces will be open for regular scheduled use. General pool use at Cannington will be available on the afternoons of January 9th and 30th when the Riverton events are being held, and Riverton will be available for members and the general public when the Cannington event is being held on the January 23rd.

What should I wear?

The event will be predominately held in the pool areas so bathers are a must! If you choose to take part with some of our external attractions at the Riverton events, or our external Splash Jungle at our Cannington event, if it’s going to be nice and warm outside, remember to slip, slop, slap and slide.

If you choose to take part in our offered laser tag sessions at either our 9th or 23rd event(s), enclosed shoes are required, so be sure to bring a pair along! Laser tag will require registration on the day and will fill up, so be sure to register for your session time early with one of our helpful staff. Laser tag registration will be available in our Riverton pool area outdoor courtyard during our January 9th event, and will be available adjacent to our Cannington sports courts for our January 23rd event.

Can I bring my own food to the event?

There will be a barbeque hosted by the Riverton Café staff on January 9th and 30th events in the external pool courtyard, with food and drinks available for purchase. Events hosted at both Riverton & Cannington will have their normal Café’s open and menus available as well, or you are welcome to bring your own picnic for you and your family to enjoy.

Where should I go when I arrive?

Participants are permitted to enter anytime from 2:00pm-5:00pm during the duration of the event. Summerplex Series participants are required to present either a printed or mobile ticket to main reception, before being granted access to the event. Our January 9th and 23rd events will have registration for laser tag sessions available on the day, and our January 30th event will have our giant “Meltdown” inflatable session available for separate registration. There is no additional charge to register for these attractions, but be sure to register your session time on the day early to avoid missing out!

Will there be photos and videos taken?

There will be photos and videos taken on the day by our staff and hired photographers. As this is the first year we are hosting this series, we are looking for some big smiles to show off the Summerplex Series to future participants. Be sure to be on the lookout for our very own Leisureplex Lion mascot who will be looking for participants to upload their best “Lion Pose” to either Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #SummerplexSeries and #GetActiveCanning to enter to win a prize!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Tickets must be produced either printed or with a visible barcode on a mobile device at reception for everyone aged 3 years and over.

What happens if it is raining?

Summerplex Series will run in any weather condition that we consider safe for our participants. In the event of extreme inclement weather, such as thunder or lightning, we will inform you of any changes to our event via the City of Canning website, email and our event Facebook page.

Will there be lockers available at the event?

Limited lockers will be available for hire on the day around the pool area, participants are encouraged to leave valuables at home to avoid issues with limited locker availability.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

If you need any further information or would like to get in touch with our Leisureplex Team, email leisureplex@canning.wa.gov.au
