‘Mess it up and slow it down – Part 2’
Following such a great response to our ‘Mess it up and slow it down’ workshop in Goulburn last October, we are delighted that Margie Fitzpatrick has invited the Rivers of Carbon community to her beautiful property ‘Australind’, to see the range of ways she has ‘messed it up and slowed water down’.
Along with Margie, will be friend Professor Ross Thompson, who will talk about the range of benefits we can gain, particularly carbon sequestration, when we look after our ‘wet areas’ as an integrated part of the farm. Lori, Haydn, Mary and Margie will then take us on a walk of the farm to see the various ways we have worked to ‘mess things up and slow water down”.
This event is also celebrating the completion of our six year Commonwealth Government supported Biodiversity Fund grant that has enabled us to work with 66 landholders to revegetate 887 hectares of land, plant 97,000 trees, use 36.7 kilograms of seed, and fence 122kms of riparian zone. Please come along and join the Rivers of Carbon team for this special event.
