About us:
TakeUpSpace was founded by Fatima El Samad and Qaisara Mohamad. We recognise the challenges minorities and people of colour face navigating institutions and spaces that privileges white knowledge and experiences. Our aim is to create a space where intersectional experiences are represented within white patriarchal institutions that have sought to exclude them. We seek to break barriers through social events by inviting people into spaces who would otherwise not be able to do so.
