About this event

After experiencing absolute bliss last year it is no surprise we are going back.

The full 7 days of morning and afternoon practice will really get things moving. And what a luxury to be able to put away the chores and responsibilities for a week and take time for ourselves.

This retreat is about working hard on our mats and enjoying life to its fullest. It is about enjoying each other's company and truly connecting, about feeling every muscle in our bodies and learning to let ourselves be, about getting out there into the chaos of the streets and returning to our little corner for peacefulness. It is everything one can wish for to be reminded that life is beautiful in all its forms and manifestations and that it should be lived not just moved through.

Something very special happens in this paradise so don’t miss out. Your only job is to get onto it, then get on a plane, arrive in Bali, and leave the rest to us.

Mick Barnes is an internationally known yoga teacher with 20+ years of experience and the founder of The Yoga Factory in Sydney. He teaches from his experience of which he's had wild and many and from the knowledge of suffering and the way out.

Mick has a somewhat amusing but powerful character and certainly doesn’t pretend to be a “saint” modern-day yogi. Mick is honest, bold, old school but also fun and this mixture somehow empowers so many people. The way he approaches teaching is so different to what is known these days as the teaching of yoga. Rather, Mick communicates traditional teachings, the way they should be taught: properly, gradually, step by step, with the address of individual body differences. He emphasises the importance of regularity and discipline as without it, yoga can’t be learned and the goal of yoga can’t be achieved. Mick does not sell promises or tell people to wear this, eat that, worship gurus, nor entice people to think that change and the whole yogic transformation will come about by just fitting in and adopting the behaviours. He asks the students to work hard, front up, not be lazy, and be accountable, but at the same time enjoy their lives.
