Event description

Description

After selling out its last Canberra screening, The Staging Post is returning to Australia's Capital. Dendy Cinemas, 6:45pm, 27th July. Find out why audiences are laughing, crying, and ultimately joining the refugees on their journey.

Bring your friends. Come again. It's the feel-good refugee film of the year.

The Staging Post follows Muzafar and Khadim, two Afghan Hazara refugees, stuck in Indonesia after Australia 'stopped the boats'. Facing many years in limbo they created a community, started the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre (CRLC) which led to a refugee education revolution in Indonesia and subsequently changed UN refugee policy. A film about friendship, connection and the power of community.

Following the film there will be a Q&A with Director Jolyon Hoff, the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre Co Founder Muzafar Ali and a skype session with teachers and students from the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre, all of whom are currently living in Indonesia as refugees.
