As part of a Universities Australia initiative, the University of Canberra is partnering with other Australian universities in a new national campaign entitled ‘Respect. Now. Always.’
The campaign highlights the determination of Australia’s universities to ensure that students and staff are safe from sexual assault and sexual harassment.
The University of Canberra will host a screening of 'The Hunting Ground', a documentary that focusses on student-to-student assaults on US campuses and the responses from the universities involved.
By showing the documentary, we aim to raise awareness and promote conversation around these issues. A Panel discussion will be held after the viewing.
Panel members include:
Associate Professor Michele Fleming Dean of Students, Joe Roff CEO University of Canberra Union and White Ribbon Ambassador, Chrystina Stanford CEO Canberra Rape Crisis Centre, and a member of the Australian Federal Police's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team.
