Event description

Description

49% of founders suffer from mental health issues. As a community we don’t talk about mental health enough, and this means we’re failing our founders and startup teams. Let's change this together.

If you'd like to learn psychological techniques and how to build the human infrastructure to support survival in an uncertain start up world, join us at Resolve.

We have gathered an exceptional line up of speakers: leading investors, founders and psychology experts to share their personal stories and provide practical advice on developing mental strength.

Allen LIAO | Founder, Tzukuri

In his journey as a young entrepreneur, he has experienced tremendous highs and hellish lows. He recently published an essay on his experiences of severe depression and his path to recovery during this difficult period. He will share personal stories and his learnings on the power of vulnerability in helping you survive and excel.

Daniel PETRE | Founder, AirTree Ventures

Despite his enormous success leading the largest venture fund in Australia (quarter billion dollars), he has suffered debilitating depression and anxiety his entire adult life. His reputation belies that he too has felt a complete lack of self worth at times. He will share stories from an investors perspective and how he views founders can be helped in their own mental journeys.

Taryn WILLIAMS | Founder, The Right Fit

Taryn has been voted one of the best female entrepreneurs in Australia. In addition to the traditional stressors of being a founder, she operates with grace and poise in a male dominated ecosystem. She'll share her stories on how she's succeeded and overcome the hurdles where emotions in women can be viewed as weakness rather than strength.

Jay SPENCE | Founder, Uprise

Jay founded Uprise, a company dedicated to using technology to deliver psychological wellness programs through cognitive behavioural therapy. Jay holds a PhD in Psychology, and is on a mission to achieve better mental health outcomes in the workplace. He'll share practical advice on how to manage your mental health.

Rachel SERVICE | Founder, Happiness Concierge

Rachel founded Happiness Concierge after suffering from anxiety and depression, a global training program dedicated to helping professionals ace their career through courses that provide audits to help people find their values, say no with tact and much more.

Clem Harson | beyondblue speaker

Clem will share her journey of hope, recovery and resilience in the face of a depressive illness and will talk about the important work Beyondblue does and how the you can seek help, or support a friend or family member who may find themselves in a difficult position.
