A one-day tour of The University of Melbourne’s Dookie Campus showcasing commercial farming, research and innovation in action.

Delegates will take part in a one-day field tour of The University of Melbourne’s Dookie Campus, showcasing its unique integration of commercial farming, teaching excellence, applied research and innovation. Set across a commercial farm enterprise, the tour will highlight how the campus operates, where real-world agricultural production underpins education, research and industry collaboration.

The tour will also spotlight early innovation and agricultural technology in action, demonstrating how cutting-edge tools and approaches are integrated with research to drive more resilient and productive farming systems.

Alongside teaching, research and farm operations, Dookie Campus also hosts the Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, one of eight hubs funded through the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund. By joining the tour, you will hear how the Vic Hub connects research, industry and communities to build drought-resilience across Victoria.

The tour will conclude at the Agriculture Victoria Tatura Smart Farm, which provides leading scientific research with a focus on economic productivity for horticulture including apples, pears and stonefruit. The tour will highlight The University of Melbourne's Future Drought Fund Long Term Trial project on Survival Signatures in perennial horticulture tree crops, in collaboration with Agriculture Victoria, Federation University and the Mallee Regional Innovation Centre.
