Developed by Australia’s leading vets, cattle specialists and rural business experts, ReproActive is a specialised, interactive workshop series designed to help maximise the reproductive & productive potential of herds. Each module will provide a wealth of knowledge to producers, resellers & veterinarians.


Weaning is one of the most crucial management interventions in a beef operation, regardless of season. Please join the Dr Chris Hallett (Coolah, Coonabarabran & Merriwa Vet's), Brett Littler (Local Land Services) & Ben Kidd (Zoetis Australia) as we present this ReproActive workshop. This workshop is beef production focused, highly-practical & interactive with modules covering:

  • The significance & assessment of Critical Mating Weights
  • The implications of Condition Scoring & the best corrective action to take
  • The importance of early Weaning Management for long term productivity, improved disease prevention & the achievement of mating &/or market weight targets

Speakers

Dr Chris Hallett, Veterinarian, Coolah Veterinary Clinic (Event Coordinator)

Chris is a veterinarian based in Coolah, NSW. He owns and operates Coolah Veterinary Clinic, Coonabarabran Veterinary Surgery and Merriwa Veterinary Clinic with his business partner, John Bowman. Together they have built a great team dedicated to serving their clients in the surrounding regions. He and his team across the three clinics have a passion for beef cattle production and strive to provide clients with the right advice and service to ensure productive and profitable beef enterprises and healthy cattle.


Brett Littler, Senior Land Services Officer (Livestock), Local Land Services

Brett is a livestock industry professional with 20 years experience in livestock production, breeding and management as an extension officer and other positions within the livestock industry. Brett was a beef cattle officer for NSW Agriculture for 17 years, and during this time worked in Japan and Korea, and conducted livestock training in all states of Australia. He assisted in the development of the BeefSpecs Calculator and was responsible for the validation work and development of the industry training package of BeefSpecs. Brett is responsible for the training and skills audit of the National Livestock Reporting Service (NLRS) staff in beef cattle and is one of the authors of the publication ‘A National Guide to Describing and Managing Beef Cattle in Low Body Condition'.


Ben Kidd, Feedlot Account Manager - Southern, Zoetis Australia

Ben is passionate about livestock production. He has held a number of roles focussing on extensive and intensive sheep and beef cattle production and animal health providing advice and product support to aid productivity and profitability. In his current role, Ben, works closely with feedlots and feedlot managers to help manage the risks of Bovine Respiratory Disease in particular. His association with the feedlotting industry ensures he is intimately aware of the need to wean cattle well for productivity and health benefits on farm and within the backgrounding and feedlotting phase.
