Early Part – Theme 1 : Disrupting the monolith – Service Oriented Architecture, MicroServices and DevOps
A new era has dawned – Service Oriented Architectures featuring contracts of behaviour between disparate functional modules linked by tightly defined APIs allows coders to adopt a micro services approach where small changes to large systems can be made quickly and flexibly. Organisations taking this approach feel they can blitz the competition in terms of feature attractiveness and user retention.
The programming languages Node.js and Scala, with intrinsic support for these solution approaches, will be discussed during this section of proceedings.
Speakers :
- David Elliot (CEO) and Daniel Spasojevic (Senior Software Engineer), Agile Digital Engineering.
- Adam Buckley, Senior Technical Lead, 2pi Software – “Challenges of migrating from PHP to Node.js”
- Jon Kellyevans, Applications Manager, Planet Footprint – “Mastering Devops”
Later Part – Theme 2 : Regional Software Engineers Stuff
Speakers :
- Harry Bjienndik, Systems designer and developer, Medicine Men – “Multi-platform mobile development with React.js”
Lighter Moment : The great international IDE roast
Yes, that’s right….the IDE you use is better than anything anyone else is using….and you are going to explain precisely how much Netbeans, Sublime, Eclipse (delete as appropriate) suck and why Emacs on Solaris is the only ‘IDE’ worth talking about…So get in there and roast your co-workers IDE
The event format will feature speakers from well-known software development organisations or in-house IT Departments, panel discussions, and a luncheon to create a great environment for exchange of ideas, and sharing valuable insights into new software engineering techniques.
