Event description

Description

Using regenerative organic agricultural practices to achieve an efficient market garden food production system. By maximising soil microbial life and nutrient balance we are able to harvest multiple crops from each bed. By allowing the soil food web to thrive we are producing healthy plants, this allows us to grow healthy, nutrient dense food the way nature intended. Benefits include productive small scale areas, high yields of nutrient dense produce, stable carbon storage, successive cropping and minimimal crop management labour.

Presenter James Hutchinson has been practicing intensive market gardening for 12 years. We incorporate all the same tools and techniques as noted urban and microfarming market gardeners Curtis Stone, JM Fortier and Maude Helene Desroches.

In this full day workshop we will explain the tools and techniques we use, and use them to prepare and plant a bed, providing a practical demonstration and a hands-on opportunity for learning.
