Refugee Week

Originally established in 1996, the organisation focuses on providing specialised support services to newly arrived migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants. These services include:Settlement services which assist new arrivals to build self-reliance and integrate into the local community;Employment and training which assist the target group to understand and access the Australian labour market programs;Social enterprise and career based opportunities;Family support initiatives which address some of the social and cultural challenges for new entrants to Australia.CMRC operates within a community capacity building framework to encourage individuals and multicultural communities to identify and address their own issues. It works in collaborative partnership with other agencies to provide services which have both an immediate and long term benefit for the community.The CMRC employs over 50 staff who provide services in our Western and Northern Region offices: Parramatta, West Ryde,  Hornsby, Baulkham Hills and Gordon.

Community Migrant Resource Centre

Refugee Week is an annual event to inform the wider community about refugees and to celebrate positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. Refugee Week provides a platform where positive achievements and contributions of refugees can be promoted in order to create a culture of welcome. The aim of the celebration is to create better awareness for communities and to inspire successful integration, enabling refugees to continue making valuable contributions to Australia. CMRC and the Multicultural Services Network invite you to attend this special event, where diverse motivating voices will be heard to showcase some of the inspirational champions within our communities. Come and join us to be inspired by refugee stories, observe wonderful pieces of artwork created by refugees, watch live cultural performances and make some new friends. 
We look forward seeing you on Wednesday, 27th of June 2018 at Holroyd function Centre from 10am – 12:30pm.  Limited spaces are available, so book your FREE tickets early to avoid disappointment.
