About this event

Refugee Week aims to both raise awareness about the issues affecting refugees around the world and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees. Refugee Week in Australia is always held from Sunday to Saturday of the week which includes 20 June (World Refugee Day).

To acknowledge Refugee Week 2024, we are hosting a Refugee Week Planting Day.

Urban biodiversity needs your help! Our cities and suburbs don't offer enough habitat for Melbourne's plants and animals. Come along and support your local biodiversity by planting indigenous plants at Broadmeadows Valley Park and score free coffee and food!

There's also a smoking ceremony and welcome to country to start the day!

🌱 Make sure you wear appropriate clothing, footwear and sun protection ☀️

🌱 Tools and gloves will be provided

🌱 Enjoy free barista made coffee and catered food from a local cafe! Just remember your reusable coffee cup ☕

🌱 Activities will take place at Broadmeadows Valley Park, Westmeadows. See Google pin for location 📍

🌱 Completely free event! Please register to attend
