Reflecting, Learning and Strengthening Future Recovery
Following the impacts of the May 2025 flooding, MidCoast Council warmly invites you to take part in a Community and Service hub workshop.
Following the significant impacts of the May 2025 weather event and flooding, MidCoast Council warmly invites you to take part in a Community and Service Hubs Workshop that will be facilitated by the Australian Red Cross.
Who is this for?
This workshop is particularly relevant for community groups and organisations that established hubs, provided financial or material assistance, or extended services in response to the floods.
What will it cover?
The workshop will provide a safe and constructive space to share experiences, identify what worked well, and explore what could be improved—from supporting volunteers and managing donations, to communicating clearly and avoiding duplication of effort. We will also look ahead, focusing on how we can work better together through clearer communication, stronger coordination, and shared preparedness.
This workshop is an opportunity to come together, reflect on the incredible efforts made across our community, and strengthen how we prepare for and respond to future events. We recognise the commitment, care, and energy shown by community groups, service organisations, volunteers, and informal networks who stepped up to support people in need during the floods.
Your insights and experience are invaluable. By learning together, we can build a more connected, coordinated, and resilient response for the future.
