A curatorial lecture led by Bradley Vincent followed by queer collage
Bradley Vincent reflects on the culture that has shaped his art world view and his curatorial career with a lecture that specifically locates the formative queer artists and writers that inspire his practice and shape his perspective. From the New York School poets of the 1950's and 60's, through icons such as David Hockney and Derek Jarman, the lecture looks at the political power and legacy of queer image making and traces its influence through to today.
Afterwards, inspired by the works of artists such as Joe Orton and David Wojnarowicz, the group explores the power of collage as political artwork with a hands on collage workshop that splices queer iconography with 1990s adbuster activism.
