THIS IS A MEMBERS ONLY WORKSHOP.

Reduction Lino Printing enables you to do Multi Coloured lino prints with one block. If you have been doing lino printing and would like to extend your knowledge and skills then this is the workshop for you .

The workshop will be conducted over 1 full day and then followed up with 2 half days.

You will be required to come with a design that has white and a maximum of 3 other colours on the first day - (so yes there is homework.). A coloured-in design is required.

We will look at the processes for doing a multi coloured lino block and on the first day we will consider your design and transfer the image to the block and then carve the areas to be white before printing the first colour of the design multiple times ( 5 prints in this edition). We will then discuss the next stage of the design and carving away the 1st colour.

You will have homework between the second and the 3rd half days to ensure you are ready to print each time. You continue to carve from the one lino block as you print a colour you then carve that colour away and overprint previous colours on your paper and the complete design emerges by the 3rd colour . You end up with almost nothing on the block as it has been carved away and a white plus 3 colour print.

We will look at different ways to register, suitable papers to use and suitable inks for reduction lino printing. We will also look at colour mixing to extend your colour range.

I would suggest you work on a design that is 15cm x 15cm if this is your first reduction block. (If you wish to work larger please get in touch with us at TMS to discuss.)

All materials supplied.

You will need to wear closed in shoes while working in the studio for work health safety reasons. Looking forward to working with you.

Bring Your own Lunch on the full day.

Tea/coffee/milk will be available at the studio. and morning tea is supplied.
