Event description

Description

These are four consecutive ‘introduction to printmaking’ workshops. They are designed for people over the age of 16 who have an interest in learning the basics of printmaking, as well as those wishing to refresh their skills. I’ll be providing two portable presses for use in the makers space for the participants to produce small editions on.

The reduction lino prints are a great way for participants to be adventurous as they have one block that is continuously carved and printed throughout the day. This nerve-racking technique allows the participants to be free with their learning and experiment with the bold marks of relief processes on lino blocks. The workshop will focus on how to carve into the block, rolling up (inking), and the registration for a multi-coloured small print edition that can be taken home. This process can also be done without a press, through the process of rubbing with a barren, so there's opportunity for further experimentation in the home.

Each full day workshop (10am to 4pm) is $130, or a discounted rate of $480 for all four (email Natasha if you would like to book all four workshops). All materials and tools will be provided.
