Online event

Overview

The webinar will place an emphasis on the use of AccuRate and FirstRate5 software, and will present key factors in achieving high ratings.

This CPD presentation is a follow-on from the Mullum Creek Eco-housing webinar presented by Paul Haar on 20 April 2021. Alex Rentsch will explore in depth the optimising of ratings for high star rating houses, but the webinar will also be generally applicable to basic “6 star” ratings.

There will be an emphasis on the use of AccuRate and FirstRate5 software.

Alex is a qualified thermal performance assessor who worked for Floyd Energy based in Ringwood, Vic between July 2008 and Dec 2018. In this very busy practice, he completed thousands of house energy ratings of all types and complexities (Class 1 and 2 buildings), using both FirstRate5 and AccuRate. He also helped develop ratings used in a variety of consulting projects done with Commonwealth and State government agencies. From Jan 2019, Alex has continued doing rating work under his own business name of Comfort Zone Energy Ratings.

Alex has a science background having previously worked in a laboratory as a clinical biochemist and in the Commonwealth Dept of Agriculture as an Operations Manager in a food residue monitoring agency.
