RECLAIM THE NIGHT - CONNECT - BRISBANE 2016!
FRIDAY 28TH OCTOBER 6PM Rally Queens Park for 7PM March CBD
For four decades Reclaim the Night has brought women together to protest violence against women and children across Australia and the world. All women and children across diverse backgrounds and experience are invited to join us to take back the streets and march together in solidarity.
This year ‘Reclaim the Night Brisbane’ is about connection, and intersection and invites all women and children across diverse backgrounds, and minority groups regardless of sexuality, race, culture, religion class, political and diverse perspectives to join us to march together towards the liberation of women against male violence.
Reclaim The Night purpose is for women to unite in numbers, to unify and connect through the importance of women’s safety both on the streets and in the home - ending violence against women is the prime focus of ‘Reclaim the Night’ and offers women the opportunity to take their concerns to the streets. ‘Reclaim the Night Brisbane’ is about women protesting loudly together against issues that concern all women. This event is for women to make some noise, be seen and heard. It is about organising and agitating for CHANGE.
Please join other women on the Friday the 28th of October at Queens Park 6pm for a rally that features speakers and performances followed by a street march/protest against gendered and institutional male violence against women.
