About this event

  • 1 day 2 hours

Recalibrate Ministries specifically aims to encourage young adults (18-30) in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through our annual conference, we seek to challenge the next generation to solidify their faith and build meaningful relationships with other like-minded Christians.

Theme

The theme for this years conference is "The Church". Jesus promised, in Matthew 16:18 that

"... I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

Christ is building His Church! This plan was instituted in eternity past and will continue until the glorious return of Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that this year's Recalibrate Conference will inspire the next generation with a passion for the Church. God's plan of expanding His kingdom is done so through the ministry of local churches and every Christian has a part in the body of Christ. In recent days many Christians have lost sight of the preciousness of the Church and the significance of it in our lives as beleivers. Our sessions and seminars this year will focus on various aspects of the doctrine of the church and our prayer is that you will go away excited to be a part of a body of believers that carries out the great commission here on earth.

Workshops (choose 1 to attend, all will be recorded)

What is The Lord's Day?: Pastor Andrew Courtis of Emmanuel Baptist Church will take you through a biblical understanding of Sunday. Andrew will show how God has blessed and set aside 1 day in the week for worship and rest and the joy for every Christian to embrace this.

Christianity and Wokeness: Owen Strachan will address the issue of "wokeness" and the subtle and overt ways this weed is creeping into the church. Based on the book of the same title he will also show how the gospel is the only answer to this falsehood.

My Place in the Church: Shane Bywater is the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Moorebank. This workshop will look at how young adults play a vital role in the life of the church and how you can be a contributor in the life of the church. From taking ownership of your faith to discovering your spiritual gifts and how they can be used in this time to bless others, Shane will guide you through serving in the local church.

The Sufficiency of Scripture: Pastor Grant Borg will take you through the importance of Scripture in the life of the church and in forming our ideas around worship. Rather than turning to pragmatism or entertainment we can rest assured that if we conform our church to the principles in God's Word, His blessings will be upon us.
