Ready for Maths: A STEM Family Workshop
Join us for a fun and engaging early numeracy workshop, suitable for children ages 3-5 and their parents and carers.
In this hands-on workshop, children will explore maths in creative ways, and develop their confidence and enthusiasm engaging in early numeracy activities. Children will experience maths through sorting, classifying, patterns, shapes, and some engineering. Parents and carers will also build basic skills, confidence, and knowledge about what age-appropriate STEM education looks like and how to bring STEM learning into the home.
For children ages 3-5 and their parents/carers
Please book a ticket for each adult and child attending the workshop.
Explore our collection and discover early numeracy books to share with and read to your child.
We may take photographs of the facilitators and the participants at this event. Read here for more details.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
LITTLE SCIENTISTS mission is to champion inquiry-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education for all young children in Australia. This to ensure that all young children are developing foundational STEM skills (like critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity) and resilient thinking dispositions that improve their education outcomes.
Little Scientists’ primary focus is to empower early childhood educators and early primary teachers with the STEM skills and confidence to embed rich STEM learning into their teaching practices. In 2023, Little Scientists launched STEM Family workshops specifically for families in recognition of the important role parents and carers play as children’s first teachers.
