About this event

  • 1 hour

This monthly event is a chance to hear an expert speak about a book they have chosen and offer a greater depth and understanding of the book.

We have purchased additional copies of the book so you can read ahead of the session but it's not essential. Writers and lovers of literature will especially enjoy the unpacking of this work.

You can take part in the discussion or simply sit back and learn.

This month, the featured book for discussion is The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin.

Our guest presenter is Anastasia Murney.

About the Book

Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed: An Ambiguous Utopia (1974) centres a brilliant physicist who travels from the anarcho-syndicalist planet of Anarres to the capitalist planet of Urras. On its fiftieth anniversary, this classic science fiction novel remains provocative, asking important questions on the nature of revolution, sacrifice, and freedom.
