Event description

Description

Data lovers, data haters and everyone in between; come join us as we expand our collective notions of what data looks like in creative practice.

Whether loved, hated, leveraged or misunderstood; some form of data is essential to design that seeks to create change in the real world. From searchable statistics to idiosyncratic insights, diverse types of data both inform and are informed by creative praxis. In this workshop, participants will hear about how data has been used to navigate interdisciplinary spaces, illuminate complex problems, and propose disruptive ideas. We will then play with some ways of thinking (and making) to help us explore some new notions of data. Learning from and with each other, this event creates a space for any creative practitioner to interrogate and transform their preconceptions about what data might look like, feel like, and ways it might deepen and inform our practices.
