Randwick History Book Club

Enjoy lively discussions of varied periods of history.

The Randwick History Book Club is held monthly at Margaret Martin Library on the 4th Thursday of the month, 6.00-7.00pm.

Dates: July 24, August 28, September 25, October 23, November 27, No book club in December, January 22 (2026), February 26, March 26, April 23, May 28, June 25.

Books are provided by the library at each meeting for discussion the following month. Enjoy lively discussions with varied genres and themes.

Special Book Club Terms and Conditions:

1. The books may not be renewed and must be returned on time. Every book is used multiple times. If a book is not returned on time, the next book club will not have enough copies for its members.
2. Please advise the library if you will be absent. Your next book will be left for you on the reserve shelf.
3. If you do not attend three (3) meetings in a row without notification, we will assume you will have left the book club and offer the space to the next person on the waiting list.
4. If you are in more than one book club, you may find you are allocated the same book more than once. This is an opportunity to discuss the book with a different group of people.
5. Book clubs can take you out of your literary comfort zone. You may be allocated books that are not to your taste. This makes for a great discussion when challenging or controversial books are allocated.
6. Members will find the book club enjoyable when everyone has a chance to voice opinions. There is no right or wrong in the art of literary interpretation. Please ensure you allow others to have their say.

• You only need to register once to be able to attend the full program.
• You must be a Library member to attend. Library membership is free and you can sign up at any branch or online today.
• Payment of the fee will be required at the time of booking.
• Refund Policy: We understand that planning ahead can be challenging in these uncertain times, and sometimes things come up. For tickets purchased directly through Eventbrite, cancellations made up to 1 day before the event start date will receive a refund, minus Eventbrite’s fees. Cancellations after this period will not be eligible for a refund. Only tickets purchased directly via Eventbrite are eligible for a refund.
• Event Cancellation: In the case of an event cancellation, tickets purchased directly through Eventbrite will be refunded to the original payment method. Tickets purchased via the kiosk at the library will be credited back to your library card.
• Please cancel your ticket if you do not wish to attend the book club anymore. This will enable others to participate.
• Your ticket may be cancelled by the organiser without further notice.
• Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.
• Due to the safety and enjoyment of participants, we are unable to admit latecomers to the room after the start time.

• Your attendance at events supported by Randwick City Council may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council's websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. By attending this session you agree to these terms. If you do not wish your image to be published, please notify staff before the event.
