Important event update - Covid situation
Given the significant rise in case numbers over the last three days, we have made a decision to cancel the public rally next Tuesday the 22-2-23 in favour of a small private event .
We are really sorry It will no longer be a public rally. as we were really looking forward to this.
While this is really disappointing, we need to be cautious and responsible and we don’t want to bring a large group together right now and risk spreading covid.
The good news is that our efforts in the last couple of months have been making a difference and we are being heard. The Minister for Environment, Hon Reece Whitby, has agreed to meet with the coalition on Tues 22-2-22 to receive the petitions and begin conversations about need for an Emergency Plan to protect the Black Cockatoos!
The Hon Stephen Pratt MLC has also agreed to submit our petition to Parliament, which we hope will lead to an inquiry into why previous plans to save these beloved birds and their habitats have failed, and the need for the seven steps we have formulated to be taken to reverse their decline.
We would not have gotten here without all your help collecting signatures on the petition and spreading the word. You can download the petition here bit.ly/BlackCockatooPetition - please keep the signatures coming!
