Radically re-thinking assessment in the Medical Degree with Lisa Schmidt
The medical degree is moving to programmatic assessment for learning. The programmatic bit is about longitudinally tracking the student’s development against the graduate outcomes i.e. how are they going with becoming a doctor? Come along and see how we plan to do this and how quantitative and qualitative data is aggregated in a programmatic context. The ‘for learning’ bit puts the emphasis on assessment moments providing feedback for students and valuing how the students use feedback. All of this has an impact on how decisions are made about progressing to the next level and Lisa will explain this new process inspired by ideas of juries and appellate courts.
