RAC Tow Safe Basic

More than ever, West Australians are eager to explore WA. But more people travelling within WA means more people on roads they may be unfamiliar with. And while regional WA is home to some of the most beautiful places in the world, it’s also consistently overrepresented by road fatalities.

RAC Tow Safe will help by providing a range of services, information, and activities to help prepare the WA community for their road trips and keep them safe while they are on the road. This session aims to provide participants with all the knowledge they need to travel safe while caravanning around WA or get prepared for the big lap.

Register now for a free two-hour session with a professional instructor to learn all about what causes caravan sway, how to load, hitch and unhitch your caravan correctly for safer travel, pre-departure checks, understand the importance of vehicle and trailer weights, the importance of electric trailer brake operations and other useful tips. The theory component is completed in a classroom and the practical component outside in the allocated space.

What to bring?

To maximise time with our instructors we ask that you do not bring your caravan to this event. An RAC car and trailer will be set up on-site for course demonstrations.

This training is suitable for both solo and group travellers. We recommend attending with your travel partner to share the learning together as some activities are a two person job. Bring a note pad and pen for taking notes.

Weather

For the warmer days, we also recommend bringing along your hat and water bottle and wearing enclosed shoes whilst outside. Sunscreen is provided.

Should conditions prevent your session from proceeding, you will be notified in advance.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your session time to allow time for check in and to be seated for an 8:00am, 10:30am or 1:00pm start.

Bookings are essential. There will be up to 20 participants per session. Please note, if you can no longer attend please email education@rac.com.au or cancel your booking through Eventbrite.
