The Amberley Heritage Centre is open 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and every third Sunday of the month (excluding December).
Bookings are essential for all attendees.
On arrival
Visitor access to RAAF Base Amberley is via our main gate located on Southern Amberley Road. If you are using a GPS, ensure you check that it is directing you to the correct gate before commencing your journey. Please ensure your GPS is NOT directing you via the Old Toowoomba Road, as you will not be permitted to access the base via that gate and it will add an additional 20-30 mins driving time to proceed to the front gate. If able, indicate your intention to travel via Cunningham Highway or Rosewood-Amberley Road.RAAF Amberley Heritage Centre is located on a busy RAAF Base.
Visitors will need to comply with all entry requirements.
On arrival to RAAF Base Amberley front gate you will met by one of our uniformed staff members who will assist with the visitor registration process. It is a condition of entry all persons aged 16 years and older is produce government issued photographic identificaiton. Please ensure you have in your possession physical photographic identification as recorded on your Eventbrite bookings registration.
Please note: photos of identification documents are NOT accepted at RAAF Base Amberley.
After receiving your Amberley Visitors Pass, you will be escorted to the Amberley Heritage Centre precinct to commence your visit.
Note: There is no public transport to RAAF Base Amberley. If visitors arrive by car ride service (such as taxi, Uber), they will NOT be granted access on to the base.
Entry conditions
- All instructions from RAAF Base Amberley Security staff and Amberley Heritage Centre staff (including Volunteers) must be adhered to during your visit.
- Pets, alcohol and firearms are prohibited on base.
- Assistance Dogs are permitted on RAAF Base Amberley upon application.
- Photography is only permitted inside Heritage Centre precinct
