Quiet Hour at Bundoora Homestead
Join us for a low-sensory session at Bundoora Homestead to experience the gallery with reduced stimuli.
What to expect
Patrons who have booked in for Quiet Hour will be able to view current exhibitions outside of our regular opening hours, with reduced sensory stimuli and access aids available to make your visit comfortable.
On arrival, you can pick up:
- a sensory map of the gallery and current exhibitions
- noise-reducing headphones or earplugs
- fidget toys
- a communication card
Lights and noises in the galleries and bathrooms are reduced during Quiet Hour.
Quiet Hour is programmed at times when traffic is generally low. However, our afternoon session are during our regular open hours, so please be aware that other members of the public may also be using the building.

— Venue is wheelchair accessible – disabled parking available (2 spaces); entry via ramp at main entrance
— Free car parking available (40 spaces) via onsite car park
— Bike parking also available
— Tram route 86, stop number 63 (Greenwood Drive) + approx 6 min (550m) walk. This tram stop is accessible.
In the interest of caring for the health and well-being of other attendees, please do not attend if you feel unwell, even if your symptoms are mild.
Join us in the Café!
If you would like to stay after your session, our café is open from 11-3 Wednesday-Friday and 10-3 on Saturdays. We offer a variety of light refreshments including pastries, soup, scones, cakes and coffee.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is the public art gallery for the City of Darebin, on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. It is a centre for contemporary art, ideas, a public garden and café, housed in a Queen Anne style mansion.
