Join us for a lecture series with a difference as we explore and celebrate queer Australian and South Australian lives. Four speakers over four weeks tackle bodies, art, sex, death, love, law, loss and music to reveal the complexities, histories and victories of LGBTIQ activism and the arts.

Musical Selves: Protest Songs, Sexualities and DIY of Australian Women’s Music

Kathy Sport volunteers with the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives in Melbourne. Her research areas of interest are music, gender, sexuality, gay liberation and second wave feminism. In 2015, she completed a PhD titled ‘Women’s Music in Australia: Space, Place, Bodies, Performance’ at Macquarie University. Kathy has a background in documentary film and during the 1980s, sound engineered lesbian/feminist bands.
